CLUSTER - SOWIESOSO (1976)

Dieter Moebius, keyboards, percussion, vocals
Hans-Joachim Roedelius, keyboards, percussion, vocals

The evocative toybox melodies (usually the Roedelius compositions) on 1974's Zuckerzeit reached their peak with Sowiesoso, courtesy of ambling pieces like "Dem Wanderer," the title track, and the vaguely Oriental "Halwa." The drum programs are still irresistibly simplistic (not to say simple), but even when Sowiesoso stretches out into primarily beatless terrain ("Es War Einmal," "Zum Wohl"), the album retains its power. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide

BBC Reported Building 7 Had Collapsed 20 Minutes Before It Fell

An astounding video uncovered from the archives today shows the BBC reporting on the collapse of WTC Building 7 over twenty minutes before it fell at 5:20pm on the afternoon of 9/11. The incredible footage shows BBC reporter Jane Standley talking about the collapse of the Salomon Brothers Building while it remains standing in the live shot behind her head.

Minutes before the actual collapse of the building is due, the feed to the reporter mysteriously dies.

Karthago - Karthago (1971)

German band Karthago's first album is some tasty heavy rock, played in a style not common among German groups. Some tracks bring to mind Jimi Hendrix or maybe the progressive funk of Funkadelic, and other tracks are played in a Latin style, reminding you of early Santana! Excellent heavy guitar playing, a pumped-up vocalist and good songs make this under-rated album well worth a listen!

Amon Düül - Disaster / Lüüd Noma! (1971)

This consists of some of the tapes made during a mammoth recording session in the late 60's. Two earlier albums were released from the same session, "Psychedelic Underground" and "Collapsing - Singvogel Ruckwarts". Released only after Amon Düül II started to get some attention, the members of which weren't thrilled about this getting put out. What is it, though? Experimental? Avante Garde? It surely is chaotic. Maybe it's just a bunch of hippies farting around! You be the judge.

Kraan - Andy Nogger (1975)

Kraan's third album was produced by Conny Plank, and was the first to be released outside of Germany. This group was a collection of excellent musicians, and the style of music was their own, a successful fusion of free jazz, pop, funk, and of course prog. Primarily instrumental and highly energetic. The rhythm section is almost unbelievably good, I mean they really set down some great grooves. The saxophone playing is brilliant and the guitarist is superb. Great stuff all around, highly recommended!

the Fall

The Fall - 30th Anniversary Concert 06-10-06 Manchester

the fall - 30th

This is a recording of the 30th anniversary gig which took place at the New Century Hall in Manchester on 10th June,2006. It's apparently the 30th anniversary of the original line up, Mark E. Smith, Una Baines, Martin Bramah and Tony Friel going to see The Sex Pistols in June 1976.
Although this is an audience recording the sound quality is pretty good.
This one was originally posted months ago by Kris Waaah of The Perfumed Garden on his second blog Burning World. Thanks to Kris!

The Fall - Sheffield, Hallam University 7th April 1993

The Fall - Sound City 7/4/1993

What better way to celebrate the release of a new Fall album than with one of their many live broadcasts. This set was recorded as part of Sound City 93 which was a week long event involving loads of bands playing at loads of venues across a chosen City. 1993 was the turn of Sheffield and just as they had been the previous year in Norwich, The Fall were invited to play. Unfortunatly this is not the full set but it's as much as was broadcast on the radio.

Don't forget, as if you could the new Fall album "Reformation - Post TLC" is out next week!!!

I think this was the correct line-up:-
Mark E Smith - Vocals
Craig Scanlon - Guitar
Stephen Hanley - Bass
Simon Wolstencroft - Drums
Dave Bush - Keyboards

1. Intro
2. Why Are People Grudgeful
3. Ladybird Green Grass

Fritz Springmeier

Fritz Springmeier is an American author and lecturer. Later books have the central theme of the organization Illuminati. He claims this organization consists of 13 bloodlines that are Lucifer's elite among humans. This organization has accumulated enormous wealth and controls the world's major corporations and governments. Its top members function like a ruling aristocracy that tries to hide its influence.

He also claims these bloodlines have developed techniques for brainwashing children to turn them into mind controlled slaves and also that he has interviewed many of the victims.

In 2003 he was sentenced to 9 years in prison for his involvement in an armed robbery in Portland, Oregon in 1997. This was allegedly done in order to get funds to promote one of his books in Japan but his participation is disputed. He is currently serving his sentence in Sheridan, Oregon. Ixtlan - Super Teenage Super party

Howdy! Megatonight it´s alright then it´s good tomorrow then it´s a little better the day after tomorrow then it´s best after the day after the day after tomorrow and then I feel like a king Other than that one knows not that much more when one thinks that certain others thinking about other things that you don´t know what its about in the head. Under bushes there are worms and by the worms there grows some new flowers, but who knows what they´re thinking when 8 goes and mucks about in an oval circle. Air speed wind, I feel that I spin around in a shady space where noone nows what I want when 8 comes there and glides to the right of the supreme room of warm freedom. 8 words are better than 9 because it takes more. Today then maybe someone wonders if 4 can grow other thing than gliderounds. 4 comes soon to visit when you least know what you´re thinking about other things that you don´t know and you haven´t got a clue about. But open your door and skile on the back then maybe we´ll meet...... Welcome!

THE ANANDA SHANKAR EXPERIENCE AND STATE OF BENGAL - WALKING ON (1999)

File Under: Groovy Westernized Indian Music
8/10

This is a very groovy release, in the true late-'60s/early-'70s sense of the word. Sitarist Ananda Shankar, the nephew of Ravi Shankar, has been blending Indian instrumentation with Western sounds for decades, using rock and jazz grooves as launching pads for some very inspired jams. His music was recently rediscovered by DJ and producer Sam Zaman, also known as State of Bengal. Zaman put together a group of crack musicians to work with Shankar. The project, as it was now called, appeared at WOMAD and toured up until the time of Shankar's death in March of 1999. There are some wonderfully retro sounds on this disc, as well as some uniquely forward-looking material. Tori is pure '60s spy-movie music, with its swirling flute and funky backbeat. If Mike Meyers decides to do a fourth Austin Powers movie, here's his soundtrack. The slow dance groove of the title track features lots of interplay between Shankar and veena player Dr. Gopal Shankar Misra over a tight drum and bass backdrop. Hopped-up flamenco, reggae, hip-hop, '70s funk, psychedelia, and even a little musique concrète make appearances on other tracks. It's all delivered with lavish abandon and a sense of fun. Dig it.

Kluster - Zwei Osterei (1971)
Before Moebius & Roedelius were Cluster, they were, with Conrad Schnitzler, Kluster. Zwei Osterei is the second of Kluster's two studio albums, recorded live in Feb. 1970. Consisting of two LP- side long pieces, this experimental minimalism is chaotic, noisy and metallic, with weird dronings, strange industrial sounds, feedback - you get the picture. The second piece is 'instrumental', while the first piece features a very serious sounding spoken narrative in German.

Brainticket - Psychonaut (1972)

Brainticket's second album is a lot calmer, a lot less frantic than their first release, "Cottonwood Hill" In fact this is Joël Vandroogenbrock with a whole new band. Probably their most accessible album - trippy and relaxed, with some attempt at actual songs. As different as it is from their first classic release, this is still one of the great psychedelic albums, and will be enjoyed by any fan of psychedelic music. Short, though - only 32 minutes or so!
